Teaching Tip
I like to have students research famous people during the Middle Ages, a time period where there aren’t many accounts of women. I try to have them do research using primary sources. I really enjoy the Medieval Sourcebook provided by Fordham University at http://www.fordham.edu/halsall/sbook.html I try to have women represented and shown as impactful as the male rulers. I particularly have them focus on Empress Matilda, Eleanor of Acquitane, Joan of Arc, and Queen Isabella.

I sent this to a bunch of people:
I know this sounds suspicious, but David Heying is a former colleague of mine (social studies teacher) and it looks like he’s in some sort of a contest. I know him– this has been his email address for several years so it’s really him. He’s a wonderful teacher– unlike many of the bums we’ve been hearing about in the press.
Maybe this is the new way teachers can get raises– internet contests!!
GOOD LUCK!!
