Below are two websites that are very useful in helping students develop a reasoned response to the essential question of chapter 15 from Geography Alive: How do population trends affect a country’s future?
The Population Reference Bureau has a world population data sheet with demographic data for the nations of the world. Birth rate, death rate, fertility rates, life expectancy rates, etc are very useful in analyzing population trends.
The Central Intelligence Agency has demographic and economic data for all nations that is useful when teaching about population dilemmas in Europe and focusing on the global connections component of this chapter. From their homepage, go to “Library/Publications/World Factbook”.
